Yao Hai’s art practice ranges from video, digital paintings, installation, photography, sculpture, painting to sound, etc. In different forms of exploration, Yao Hai tries to decompose elements such as materials, time, space, causality, logic, ego spirit and physical behavior to generate some presupposition to be solved and restore all the phenomena that can be transmitted through vision, and verify those practices that are not to speak of, hoping to get the extension of concept.

Yao Hai was born in China in 1980. He emigrated to HK in 2009 and travelled around the world right after that. Currently, he lives and works in Shanghai, China.
