Yao Hai’s creative direction involves installation. Sculpture, painting, video, performance, sound and photography. In his creation, he is good at exploring the excitement and link between himself and the material by starting from his work experience and a node in the material itself. He often uses a variety of ways as a way of sculpture, developing the parts of the material into a material language that can exist independently, as if creating a living text. These new material languages will intersect each other in the continuous creation, opening up more dimensions of visual experience in space, color and form.

Through these practices, Yao Hai obtained the way to continuously and effectively open up new languages, so as to produce and construct his own seed vocabulary system. Artists are extremely interested in sorting out and exploring the subtle links between different objects, and this process is also the closest distance that Yao Hai thinks he is to art.
