Xie Bei’s work is mostly presented in natural landscapes, but it is not a single reproduction, but a smashing and delicate external revelation of the core essence, expressing one’s perception of the real society, using different materials to reproduce and deconstruct the landscape, so that the collage and destruction of various materials are interwoven, and repeatedly painted. Human history and today’s life are destruction and destruction, constantly covering and destroying, which is also the kind of rough and coarse feeling that expressionism brings to people, rather than the sense of exquisite design. However, no matter how to cover, there will certainly be traces, and history will remain traces like this, the juxtaposition of reality and illusion. The destructiveness in the picture is also a metaphor for the collision between human civilization and nature. In the face of a blank canvas, most of Xie Bei‘s creation is relatively random daub, no presets and targets daub. Images are slowly generated, hoping to find what in the repeated smear.

Xie Bei was born in Chongqing in 1960. He batianed his B.A. from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 1988. Currently, he lives and works in Chongqing.
