Jiang Jianjun used to be an abstract painter. When he realized that abstraction had become a pure form game and decoration, his understanding changed. He returned to real life and began to think about the relationship between painting and reality. Observation of reality, choice of perspective, and insight became the focus of his work, as was his imagination. Jiang Jianjun is constantly trying to explore a suitable method of expression, a kind of ordinary looking, but the technique of the picture effect is hidden. Through his depiction, ordinary objects of daily life make the audience feel cordial, uneasy and even surprised.
Jiang Jian jun was born in China in 1974. He studied Fine Art Education at Guangxi Normal University from 1992 to 1995. He obtained a M.A. in oil painting at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2004. Currently, he lives and works in Chongqing.
