Yin Changzhi’s artistic practice challenges conventional painting by blending abstract shapes, vibrant colors, and unconventional materials like recycled wood from packing boxes and everyday fabrics. His work merges traditional painting techniques with a sculptural, shallow-carving effect, achieved through free experimentation with materials and a deliberate embrace of spontaneous accidents. This approach results in dynamic compositions that appear random up close but transform into cohesive landscapes or spatial forms when viewed from different angles or distances. While some works adhere to a rectangular structure, others adopt irregular, unconventional shapes, creating a vivid, imaginative space that invites viewers to project their own interpretations. His art redefines the boundaries of painting, encouraging open-ended engagement with its textures, forms, and colors.
